- How has your thinking about art changed during the semester? Was there a particular unit that you learned a lot in?
A particular unit I learned a lot in was Artists Steal because this is when I learned that all art builds off of each other, so stealing someone's idea to make your own art is okay. I'm a kind of person that doesn't like when people copy me or take my ideas, however this unit taught me that you can using someone's work as inspiration for your own is not the same as copying their work.
2. What do you notice about how your art making skills, including how you interpret themes, have changed when you compare your drawing from the beginning of the course to your more recent one? Post photos of the original work and the re-done version.
My art making skills have improved a lot because at the beginning I had very little knowledge about basic techniques needed to make art. After I improved in that, I learned more about how to look at art and make it in more of a unique way. For example, on the first day I drew a picture with the theme of beauty. I ended up drawing a rose. looking back on that now, I think that was a very basic idea and the second time I drew the theme beauty, I thought about it in a deeper thinking.
this is a picture of my first beginning piece, a rose. The second time I drew it however, I thought about the theme in a deeper meaning and then I created the piece with the eye, mirror, and flowers.
3. What unit or project was your favorite? Why did you like it? Post images.
My favorite project was by far Artists Steal. I especially liked when we had to make art incorporating another subject and my group decided to make a stop motion about a zombie apocalypse. This was my favorite unit because we got to try something completely different. At first it was difficult to learn how to use the app but it was fun to learn as we went. Putting on the zombie makeup and filming everyday was something new and interesting.
What did you like about this class? What could have made it better for you, in terms of learning?
I LOVED THIS CLASS. This is my favorite class and no matter what, I always had fun. The projects were open ended, so we could pretty much freely create our own ideas of art. the group projects were fun and we were always trying new things whether it was splatter art, stop motion, or making a bridge. I don't think I could have learned that much more. I already learned how to make art, and I also learned about art in a general way such as what the different art forms are and different techniques.
THANKS FOR THE GREATEST CLASS EVER.
